2016-New Era for Danú

Happy New Year All! The end of 2015 saw Muireann retire from Danú after 13 years with the band. We have some news now as we begin a new era of the band with the brilliant Nell Ní Chróinin who now joins the band as lead vocalist. Nell hails from the Gaeltacht of Múscraí in West Cork, and is steeped in the song and musical heritage of the area. For someone so young she has a wealth of traditional songs from the area in both Irish and English. Amongst her multiple awards she was the recipient of the TG4 Traditional Singer of the Year, and winner of the prestigious Corn Uí Riada award in 2014.
